MAC International, a manufacturer of industrial and commercial pressure washers, is to make its inaugural appearance at Food Manufacturing Live in May.

The free one-day event takes place on Wednesday 1st May at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.

Catering exclusively to professionals within the food and beverage sector, it will feature an array of exhibitors, showcasing the latest innovations and technologies that are shaping the landscape of food manufacturing.

MAC International is a leading UK manufacturer, supplier and distributor of a wide range of world-class mobile and static diesel heated and electrically heated industrial pressure washers, floor scrubber driers and floor sweepers. It already enjoys a strong presence in the food sector, supplying equipment for high-profile clients such as Weetabix, British Sugar, Goldenfry and Cereal Partners Worldwide.

Utilising new and ground-breaking technology, MAC has developed the most comprehensive range of emission-free hot pressure washers in the marketplace, which provide an effective cleaning option for the food industry without compromising performance. Furthermore, the range has experienced a 315% growth in sales over the last four years.

MAC offers free demonstrations and one-week trials of its equipment and will be exhibiting its zero-emission pressure washers and accessories.

The Darlington-headquartered business recently attained a duo of internationally recognised certifications following a successful and rigorous external audit – ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 health and safety management.

Andrew Scott, Sales Director at MAC International, said: “We are thrilled to participate in Food Manufacturing Live for the first time, as it offers an invaluable opportunity for us to connect with current and new customers, engage with industry experts, and showcase our innovative products including our zero-emission range.

“Our MAC Zero Emission pressure washer range is perfectly suited to the food and drink industry, and we already have a wealth of knowledge supplying some key names within this sector.

“This range removes the need for diesel as it is 100% electrically heated with absolutely no compromise, offering an emission free hot pressure washer range that is best in-class with industry-leading heat performance.

Tell us a bit about the history of MAC?

Darlington-based MAC International, a manufacturer of industrial and commercial cleaning equipment and machines, was established in 1999 by myself. My father, Jim Ruck, had already been in the pressure washer industry prior having set up Ruck Engineering 40 years ago.

It all started with the MAC Avant, which continues to be one of its most popular machines and is one of the country’s most recognisable pressure washers.

As the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of bespoke static pressure washers, we produce all of our machines at our North East headquarters, and have invested heavily in the research and development of our MAC Zero Emission hot pressure washer range following changes in eco legislation.

We subsequently launched our Zero Emission range in 2019. Since then, we have remained ahead of the curve and experienced a 315% increase in sales in our eco range up to 2023.

Tell us about the growth of the business?

We have grown significantly and responded to the increased demand by increasing our headcount in the marketing and production departments by eight. This strategic move is designed to support the accelerated growth of the Zero Emission pressure washer range throughout the UK and Europe.

Following a successful and rigorous external audit, the business recently attained ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 health and safety management certifications. It is already ISO 9001 quality management certified.

ISO 45001, a standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, provides a framework for organisations to manage risks and improve performance.

ISO 14001 provides a framework for organisations to design and implement environmental management systems to continually improve environmental performance.

What products will MAC be displaying at the CV Show?

MAC International will be displaying our entire Zero Emission range of pressure washers, which includes the MAC Plantmaster, MAC Revolution and MAC Elektra.

We will also display our classic range which includes MAC Avant, MAC Drop and MAC Atom XL products.

In addition, we will showcase some of our accessories, such as remote-control boxes, token systems, timed and non-timed chemical systems and much more.

Describe the types of jobs commercial vehicle operators use MAC products for?

MAC International’s equipment is primarily used in logistics and ports, with our machines used on vans, trucks, containers and farm equipment. We also distribute for general public use, with our products used at car washes and vehicle hire companies.

Any new products to talk about?

With the government’s commitment to reducing the UK’s carbon footprint, everything points towards electric as the power of the future for the pressure washer industry. This is why through utilising new and groundbreaking technology, the company has developed the most comprehensive range of zero emission pressure washers in the marketplace, which provide an effective cleaning option with no compromise on performance and which now offer a real viable alternative to diesel heated pressure washers.

Furthermore, they offer a saving of up to 50% – or more in some cases – in running costs, when compared to a conventional diesel heated pressure washer.

MAC International, a manufacturer of industrial and commercial cleaning equipment and machines, will make its inaugural appearance at the Commercial Vehicle Show in April.

The CV Show, the largest and most comprehensive road freight transport, distribution, and logistics event in the United Kingdom, takes place at Birmingham’s NEC Arena over three days from 23rd April to 25th April.

It brings together commercial vehicle manufacturers, dealers, distributors, and hundreds of sector suppliers to network and showcase their brands and products to a huge audience of prospective customers.
